So the other day my friends and I were watching fireworks and I brought up how ironic it would be if Firework started playing. Then I mentioned that people online believed Katy is iconic, and that literally made 2/3 of my friends bust out laughing with one of them literally saying "if she was iconic, her music videos wouldn't suck" with the other being, "has she had any popular songs other than Dark horse and the Roar song in the past two years?" Both are part of the GP, just thought I'd say something
Not only trying to drag her though, they said something around the same about my fave, saying she was only known nowadays for showing her breasts in a see-through dress
and that she releases too many albums for them to count, all of which are "the same sounding." Then with Lana, one of my friends said she sounds like a dying goat
and they can't understand how anyone can listen to her music without falling into a deep depression, with another asking if Lady GaGa had retired
I was kind of egging them on at this point though, just asking them what they thought of my faves.
Just goes to show that the world doesn't revolve around our faves, regardless of their chart positions. Thought it'd be fun to share.
