The difference is that the black women with whom you think you align so well, whose language you use and stereotypical mannerisms you adopt, cannot hide their blackness and womanhood to protect themselves the way that you can hide your homosexuality

This isn't helping anyone. This whole "Oh we have it worse" debate is not benefiting anyone period. And it's implying that gay people should hide their "gayness" and we have that option too but black women do not. The entire problem is that we shouldn't have to hide who we are to get places. While black people and gays are victims of different kinds of discrimination, running around saying that one has it worse than another isn't getting at the problem that we should eliminate discrimination all together.

As for "Gays stop acting black," gays can act however they please. If that's inherently more black than white, so be it. Gender roles and race roles shouldn't be a factor in who or what one is.

You must be kidding. UK culture is far more racially homogeneous and segregated than US culture. Our history is rooted in deep, painful racial wounds and tension - issues the UK doesn't have to face.

You say that yet you don't understand why black Americans hesitate to share their culture with people who historically stripped them of their original culture, excluded them from their own, stole aspects from the culture they created stamped a white person on it so it could be mainstream, and to this day belittle their culture, mock it and laugh at it until it's time to profit.

This isn't the UK where the minorities come from places where the majority was a part of their culture or their culture was embraced.
