Anyway, I doubt Taylor will completely go 22-Type pop. There will always be amazing songs that blend genres beautifully and that will keep the anti-pop fanbase loyal.

I can feel that you care about it so much. Me too. Yes, it's a little bit complicated. I talked about Weinstein's obvious intention, then all are on Taylor's hand. The inspirations might push Taylor a little bit.
For the risk, The Giver song, if existed, will obviously be a sad song. Some of us including me feel that LP5 will be happier. So why not a happy song as the lead single? Then it kind of balance the soundtrack and album, on the other hand, it also increases the diversity which is a good selling point.
For acting and soundtrack, if one of them wins, she will not lose. My feeling is she will win them both.
Once again, the above are just based on my assumptions, or logic, not truth.

One thing I want for LP5 is a vocally demanding song. i want to hear her belt higher than D5 (The E5s in WANEGBT don't count because they were in the background and were poorly-executed). I'm curious to hear what her voice would sound like in higher notes.

However, if she can't sing any higher, or can sing higher but can't do it well, than I'd rather she sticks to her comfortable range. Not here for Fearless era screeching.

People dismissed Taylor when she first came on the scene yet almost a decade later she has managed to continue with critical and multiplatinum success. She has lucrative contracts and built herself up from an opening act to an artist that can tour worldwide to sold out shows. I expected the negativity and they will continue being confounded while Taylor continues living her philosophy and being proven correct. Taylor laid out some very basic principles and quite frankly I didn't read anything there that was not correct and other artists should take notes.

I am hoping for some southern rock. I don't want to get too excited for the album because my expectations are usually not met. Best case scenario it turns out to make all her other albums look like they were training for this album and the public and critical response is more than we as fans could have hoped worse case it doesn't click at all. It may be somewhere inbetween the high and low. We will see the reaction to the lead single and the direction she intends to go.
