Is the essay Taylor wrote is a critical acclaim or mixed? I've read a lot of negative reactions on the internet about that journal, especially with that article saying that She know nothing about Supply and Demand.
she might not be an expert but her way of doing things are defenitely more successful than most people in the industry right now.
Fun music fact's >>> When a song get's played on the radio only the writer of the song get's paid >>> Taylor Swift either get's 100% of the money since she writes most of the songs by her self or she will get 1 friend co writer so Taylor gives 1/2 of that money for the playing the song on the radio to the other writer >>> as an example only, Lady Gaga's last song " applause " had 7 other co writers for that 1 song so Gaga only got paid 1/8 of the playing of that song on the radio >>> You can not make a lot money only getting 1/8 for a song >>> Let me ad >>> Miranda Lambert's new song with Carrie Underwood " something bad " >>> Neither Miranda or Carrie wrote that song so neither one of them get's paid or makes any money at all when that song " something bad " is played on the radio (Fun Fact's)
Wow! I didn't know that. I always thought the artist got paid in radio airplay. But, I do remember Dolly Parton (songwriter) saying she still receives residual checks from Whitney Houston's "I will always love you". It's so interesting how the music industry works.. Artists get paid anywhere from 15%-22% on albums at wholesale. Single downloads they see less than a dime. Vevo certified videos over 100mil views, they get paid. I read Psy made several million from "Gangnam Style" youtube views. But again, was the it the artist, songwriter, producer or record label that got paid? Now I see why Taylor who has released 4 albums is worth more than Rihanna who 've released 7 albums. Paying cash for a $17.5 mansion in RI.
As far as "Gangnam Style" is concerned, Psy is the artist, songwriter, producer, and video director. He has a 70/30 split with his Korean label (he gets 70%, the label gets 30%). I haven't heard what his artist split with his ROW record label is, but he still gets songwriter royalties.
Should we discuss The Giver song? Because it's so close to the release date.
I'm not afraid to predict Taylor writing at lease one song for The Giver. Because I believe in logic. Weinstein obviously loves the idea, besides the book, Meryl and Jeff, is there other better hype than this?
So, it's up to Taylor.
I think it will be S&S 2.0 because of the similar background, if it's titled S&S, then it perfectly fulfills the 4S hint.
For short term, if you worry about LP5, just relax. Songwriting and performing are both like muscles, if you use it more often, they become stronger. LP5 will definitely top Red.
For long term, when Taylor turns 60, she will have already been a legend passing over her knowledge, experience and wisdom.
All these are the benefit of writing her own music, Joni Mitchell, John Lennon, Elton John...already proved it.
This is our fav.
I wonder how long she'll continue making music I hope she continues late into her life, even if she doesn't release every 2 years with a whole era of videos, touring, etc. I mean obviously she can't go on forever but I hope she doesn't stop too soon.

It'd honestly be more surprising if she didn't write a Giver song than if she did I mean her character is a musician and everything... seems unlikely they'd pass up on the opportunity. I guess the real question is whether it'll hurt LP5's lead single. Since this is so close to the beginning of the era, while S&S was a whole year before hand.

Taylor has a crazy heart (sometimes I think she's not peaceful inside, she's so emotional) in good way as a musician, she won't stop very soon, even if she does (for some other reasons), she will come back very soon. I am prepared well to enjoy her music for long time.
Edit: I think that's why she's been doing so many peaceful things to balance herself. I love to see her happy.

I know it's a bit silly to think that far ahead but I can't help but do so. It'll be strange if/when Taylor isn't recording music anymore, one day Hopefully it's a long time before that day comes. Since that one Quote from Glamour:

As far as my career goes, I hope I知 still touring. I壇 love to always be present in music, writing songs, but I知 not the kind of person who will hang around if I become irrelevant. I値l bow out gracefully, raise my kids and have a garden. And I知 going to let my hair go gray when I知 older悠 don稚 need to be blond when I知 60!
Then again her fans are pretty loyal, and take that quote pretty seriously so they'll probably always be there to assure to her that she's not "irrelevant".

I think if The Giver song and the lead single of LP5 are opposite songs, like sad song and happy song, then problem resolved. Of course all these are base on my assumption.
Edit: I don't think a dual lead single is an option, it will kind of ruin the wholesomeness of LP5 if doing so.

Good point! Think about Rolling Stones last year.
Well that's true. I imagine she'll send one to radio and not the other as well. So even if they're released at the same time it won't completely distract the public. (Then again what if The Giver sells more than the Album track? )
Then again she's not one to play it safe, I'm sure she'll do fine
There's no way She'd even risk having a soundtrack song competing with the lead single. Besides, I feel like doing a soundtrack song would "cheapen" the fact that She's also acting in the film.
I don't think we're getting a soundtrack song, which is a shame given how much inspiration could be drawn from the source material.

In my view, the real purpose of singles is promoting the album, literally "promotional single" reveals the truth. I don't think they will distract the public shortly before the album release. Especially if they are totally different songs, her fans will become more thirsty to buy LP5.
