I'm listening to X. So far, my opinion is that it sounds nice but I don't give a damn about what he's singing about. That's where he fails compared to Taylor. Both are writing about their personal experiences, but Taylor manages to do so in a way that makes Her music universally relatable in a way that Ed hasn't yet pulled off.
"Photograph" and "One" are both quite good. "Photograph" does kinda remind me of a blend of the two versions we have of State of Grace. Haven't heard the songs after "Photograph" yet.
I'd say it's more his style of songwriting His songs feel much more specific to his relationships than most Taylor's. Not a bad thing but definitely where Taylor succeeds over him.

Bloodstream and Tenerife Sea are the best, and those are the two after Photograph. Keep going!
