No no. I feel the best way to have sold ARTPOP would have been:

#1 Applause (Jun)
#2 Do What U Want (Sep)
#3 Gypsy (Jan)
#4 Sexxx Dreams ft. Rihanna (Apr)

Hindsight's a wonderful thing, but if she hurried up and got Applause out there earlier then it would have owned without the Roar nonsense. That in turn would have given DWUW a great platform, and hopefully enough resistance against the R Kelly press. If she put out the Christina and/or solo version, she'd probably have come out of that relatively unscathed. All of which would have given Gypsy the support it would have needed for radio to fully get behind it. By this point, the campaign would probably be winding down, so a controversial-but-likeable SD release with Rihanna to spice it up could have done wonders.

I've never really bought G.U.Y as a single as it just isn't infectious enough - it's a great album track. Venus is too campy/weird - also best left for fans.
