What is synonymous to rising star lately? Charli XCX. The 21 years old british singer who first was revealed thanks to 'Stay Away' & 'Nuclear Season' in 2011 and then on a bigger scale thanks to 'I Love It' in 2012 is the next big thing. 2014 is Charli XCX year. Miss XCX met us one morning in Brooklyn. It was nearly 8AM but her schedule was full already. "Don't you feel tired? Needing to do interviews and photoshoots so early.." we asked her. "of course i do" she replied. "But it's getting better, i'm becoming more and more used to those hectic schedules. Besides I'm having fun!"
We then sat down inside Variety Records' offices in New York City and started the interview.

We've talked about your schedule right now, has it been this way for some time now?
It's been like this since 'I Love It' was released, but's it's getting fuller on dail basis, especially since i have new music out and an album out soon.

Does it affect the quality of your music? having such a full schedule.
Not really, I'm having at least 4 days per week like nearly only in the studio these past weeks. So I still have time to concentrate fully on the music. Besides I write music all the time which facilitates things, I already have many songs written that I'd like to release.

Your album 'True Romance' didn't sell a lot, does things like that affect you?
It doesn't affect me as it would affect some other people. It's and Indie-Goth-Pop record that I made that I still find great, People can listen to it online and stuff, they can also simply illegally download it, It doesn't mean people didn't like it. It's not really a mainstream kind of music album anyways. I just hope my new album would sell more since it would show that I have more new hardcore fans.

Have you ever Illegally downloaded music yourself?
When some new music that i love leaks, i obviously do download it, but I buy it afterwards. Besides I love Vinyls so i buy everything that I love on Vinyl.

You previously said you worked with Sky Ferreira, could you tell us about that?
Well I love Sky, and we performed together once. I think she's a great singer, and we were together in the studio with Ariel Rechtshaid and we were like 'why not?' . We wrote a song together & I decided to Keep it. She's featured in it.

ANASTACIA SIGNS TO RIVER ROSE RECORDS

Anastacia, perhaps best known for her Sprock music has agreed to sign to River Rose Records. The legendary singer and cancer survivor has been eyeing the label for a little over the week and the label finally won the label over.

No word on a new single or album title yet, but sources say that there will be a full promo blitz for her in the upcoming week. River Rose Record’s master of promotion is anxious to begin work on their 120 promotional items for the week. Because, their head is apparently insane.

Stay tuned for more information on Anastacia, her upcoming single, "Gold Temptation" and other information as it is released.

I had a difficult time last week supporting one artist, so I guess I'll sign ha to the other G.U.Y. on the condition that she must be on Zedd's album and Zedd must produce at least one song on her album.
