I've spent the past week and a half reading the books, I'm nearly halfway through #5 now. Will post more after I've finished it because I have some thoughts.

Regarding LSH. I think the actress said "she's dead" which could just mean "they haven't brought me back to life yet." Right?

Why did they kill Jojen on the show when he's still alive in the book? Is it because he hasn't actually done anything important (yet)?

Yeah everything Michelle said seemed vague and not very direct to the point answers. If LSH was cut, they would have announced it beforehand like they did with Strong Belwas I think. So it would make sense for Michelle to play it safe and veil it by saying stuff like that if the character is still going to appear.

It probably means he wasn't going to be of great important in upcoming books. The showrunners recently said they're gonna keep killing people who are still alive in the books.

Not bcuz of what the directors said, not because of what Michelle said.. But bcuz of the piece of news we have about next season that says Jamie will be heading to dorne in season 5. I think the main reason for LSH was for brienne to he put in a conundrun about her oaths and book 5 ends with her taking Jamie to LSH.. So if Jamie leaves for Dorne, what is brienne even going to do after she meets LSH?? Just die? (although that WILL be pretty iconic still)

Ok, so I've just finished all of the books. 4 and 5 were good. It should make for great television, although I'm certain more than a bit will get cut.

I hope they keep the character Penny (the female dwarf), to keep Tyrion company. She's one of my favorite new characters.

Speaking of new characters, I hope they introduce Griff and Young Griff early on in the season.

All of the plot about the Ironmen bored me to death and some of the plots about the Dornish were a bit meh, so I wouldn't mind if they took some of that out. I wouldn't mind them cutting the whole Myrcella bit. I'd also be ok with them cutting Dany's whole marriage, but I'm sure it'll be there.

I'm curious to see how they handle the next season... They don't have much published material for Bran, and I don't think there's much left for Sansa and Littlefinger either. So I guess we either won't see much of them, or they'll have storylines that aren't in the published books.

I hope Book 6 comes out next year. It's really cruel to leave like a dozen cliffhangers in your book when you take half a decade between books. At this point, there are like 7 major characters who could be dead or dying.

Speaking of the books, I feel like Jon Snow is the child of Lyanna and Rhaegar.

It seems like the deaths of Tommen and Myrcella are immenent, considering Cersei's prophecy.

Quaithe warned Dany about a Kraken (Victarion) and dark flame (Priest Moqorro), lion (Tyrion), griffin (Connington), sun's son (Quentyn) and mummer's dragon (Aegon). So far, she's only crossed paths with Quentyn, so I think she'll interact with some of the others in the next book.

I'm not sure I believe that Stannis is dead.

On another note, everyone in King's Landing believes that Loras was greatly wounded at Dragonstone, but Stannis and his men make no mention of losing Dragonstone... So I think that the Martell's pretended to capture Dragonstone to free up the fleet and feigned Loras' injuries to deceive Cersei.

I don't think Jon Snow is dead, either. He's more or less the main character of the series in addition to being the main POV character at the Wall. I don't think GRRM is done with him, especially if he is the child of L+R.

Will the show people work with George to accurately depict what hasn't been published, or will they just come up with their own plot? I guess it doesn't really matter as long the producers put the right person on the Iron Throne in the end.

GRRM has already told the producers everything major that happens to everyone. It's how they've known what to add/cut in the recent seasons.

So I'm guessing that means Stoneheart won't kill Jaime in the books. If she did, then she'd probably be considered too significant to cut from the show, right?

Stoneheart is a very minor character. She will not impact the plot at all.
Jaime still needs to kill Cersei and complete his redemption arc.

The show seems to be cutting the entire greyjoy plot line. Or theyre making some major fhanges to it where balon will stay alive and tyere'll be no victarion or the other brother who becomes king. So no kingsmoot, instead they'll move on to sending someone else to meet dany and Balon will attack the reach himself

My most anticipated storylines of S5 are Arya becoming an assassin. I hope they incorporate some of her chapters from book 6 because if any of y'all have read the released 'Mercy' chapter, you'll know why I'm excited. My second most anticipated would be Tyrion's. I truly hope they don't drag out Aegon's reveal either. Brienne's storyline was exciting in the book but in the show, idk. Will she still fight the fake hound, meet gendry and the BWB?

Also Dorne. Dorne excites me too.

How could you possibly say Stoneheart is a very minor character at this point? Hell, fricking Mago is going to have a part in TWOW according to George. You can't possibly say with all certainty that any character will end up being minor, especially one so intrinsically tied to primary characters.

Also the fact that Jaime needs to kill Cersei to complete some sort of redemption arc is insanely problematic, and implies that Jaime is even on a redemption arc in the first place. I can expand on that last part later, if you want me to, but his arc isn't one of redemption but identity.

Sophie Turner - "Game Of Thrones"

ophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark. Her arc, as the scales fall from her eyes and she becomes more pragmatic and learns how to play the game (the only Stark who has, really), has been a real highlight. And this season, as she was finally freed of Joffrey and escaped to the Eyrie, has seen Turner really come into her own. With the character's naivety stripped away, she's becoming a survivor, and Turner played her big monologue in Littlefinger's "trial" like an aria. It would have been unthinkable a season or two ago, but we're positively champing at the bit to see how that particular storyline develops, and so much of that is to do with the actress (it certainly isn't anything to do with Aidan Gillen's accent, anyway...)

I feel like Littlefinger's plan to have Sansa marry Harry the Heir of the Vale isn't going to work out. IDK if they're even planning to keep that plot in the show, I don't think it's been mentioned yet.

I just want Sansa to be the Stark in Winterfell at the end of the series. Don't let her die
