Simon is just trying to make a buck. He doesn't care about artistic development. If so, he wouldn't make statements that there should be a Grammy for best fans, 1D would win.
That's a telling sign that he doesn't believe in their talent and they are just a short-term cash cow for him.
I believe someone on their team said we recognize they will have to start making hits to stay in the game or Album sales will dry up.
