The BBC are hyping the living **** out of Bouchard already. They are only barely pretending to care about Petra.

Whether she wins today or not, she will definitely be the next over-hyped white blonde "superstar" of the sport. Winning would simply speed up the process, but it's not like she even needs to win titles - look at Kournikova. Having said that, Bouchard seems like the most driven and consistent player of the upcoming generation so I will be surprised if she doesn't win at least a couple of slams in her career.
No wonder some Sharapova fans are showing their insecurity. They probably hate Eugenie more for potentially being the next endorsements queen than they hate Serena for the years of dragging, humiliating and beating their fave on nearly every big stage of the sport.
I think Petra has the game to make this very one-sided if she's playing well so the hype could backfire big time. Only Serena or Venus can go toe-to-toe with her on this surface when she's not missing every second or third shot. I don't think Eugenie is bad enough to lose 6-0 6-1 in a centre court final though.
