Bonnie McKee heads down under!
by Joshua Jackman
American pop star Bonnie McKee has taken some time out of her busy schedule to visit Australia in promotion of her new single "Smile".
The Smile singer has recently spent some time in Africa helping out sick children, and has founded her own charity, humbly titled the Bonnie McKee Foundation, or B-McKee Foundation for short. The worldly star has also more recently spent some time in the UK also promoting her new single, where she signed a deal with children's game company Mind Candy and their game Moshi Monsters.
Bonnie McKee plans to expand her audience on a worldwide scale, appealing to not only the young, fun-loving summer-soaking college crowd, but also those who help out others in need and children who want to feel inspired. Bonnie claims, "Smile is a song for everyone. It doesn't matter if you're young or old, if you're from the US or from anywhere else in the world, if it's summer or if it's winter, if you can just smile, then this song is perfect for you!"
The star is set to perform her new single "Smile" on Sunrise tomorrow, as well as join for a quick interview and reveal some details about her upcoming EP, 'Young Love'.

Promo Spot: Sunrise Australia
Bonnie McKee joins David "Kochie" Koch and Samantha Armytage for an interview and performance on morning show Sunrise.
DK: Welcome to the show, Bonnie. How are you liking Australia so far?
BM: Thank you! I've only been here for about 12 hours, but it's been amazing so far, I can't believe what a beautiful sunrise you have down here!
SA: Well, that's the name of the show for a reason.
*they all laugh*
DK: The reception from the fans has been amazing too, just look at everyone out there ready to see you perform! How does that make you feel?
BM: It feels amazing to see all of my Australian Bon Bons. I make music for myself but I also make it for my fans, and nothing pleases me more than to see them here enjoying my music. It's great. *nods*
SA: Now, everyone's already heard the new single "Smile", which is on iTunes and in stores right now by the way, which is already doing very well in Australia. Did you expect Australia to take to your songs so well?
BM: Well as I said I make music for my fans as well as myself, but I could never have expected the kind of reception that I've had here, it's just incredible. I feel honoured to already have so many amazing fans so early on in my career as an artist.
DK: But you're definitely no stranger to the music industry, are you? You've helped to put some of today's biggest artists such as Britney Spears and Katy Perry, who's doing very well in Australia right now, on the top of our charts, how does that make you feel?
BM: It's very rewarding seeing your music be successful, even when it's not you who's directly getting the credit. You know the work that you put in is being received well and that's always a very gratifying feeling. But of course, it's always so much better when it's your name in the headlines. *smiles*
SA: I'm sure it is. Back to your music, the new single "Smile" is from your forthcoming EP, 'Young Love', which is set to come out next week, how are you going to prepare for this release? Do you plan to promote in Australia?
BM: Well, good question, first of all! *laughs* The new EP will be coming out next week, yes, but I'll be back in the US by then. But perhaps there will be a tour coming soon in which I may visit Australia... who knows? *cheeky smile*
DK: A tour? Can you tell us more about that?
BM: I better not. But be sure to keep an ear out. *winks*
SA: We'll be keeping both ears out, that's for sure! Now Bonnie, you're here today with us to promote your new single, how about you give all of your fans out there the performance that they're just dying for?
BM: That sounds great to me!
...
Bonnie heads to the stage and performs an up-beat, choreo filled performance of "Smile", screaming fans making sure to take a plethora of photos of the star.
...
DK: That was amazing, Bonnie! *hold up physical copy of Smile* Bonnie's new hit "Smile" is in stores now, make sure to get your copy today!

Mariah Carey on Ostrich Pillow Commercial

Yesterday, the Ostrich Pillow team tweeted that the commercial is finished and will make its premier on their official website and also on Kickstarter the next day. Mariah tweeted and said that it'll also air after its debut on all three major broadcast networks (ABC, NBC, CBS) in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand to raise money for the "Mariah" Ostrich Pillow project.
The commercial starts with Mariah in the recording studio, wearing a simple shirt with the words "Sleepless" and jeans recording a song which happens to be "Libidinous Dream". She then walks tiredly to a black couch and rest. ""We spend so much time at work, in front of a screen or in transit," says Mariah. "Sometimes work and the long roads get the best of you, and you want to sleep yet you want some privacy in public, the "Mariah"Ostrich Pillow helps you get that." She shows the prototype which is simple, yet beautiful and also features a tiny radio inside which features Mariah's mellow songs like "Underneath The Stars". "We need to raise another USD$35,000 to make this project possible as she puts it on the "Mariah" Ostrich Pillow and drifts off to sleep on the couch as the commercial blurs out and the Ostrich Pillow's logo appears with a website link provided.
The 2 minutes long commercial received positive attention from the media and public and has since gone viral because of its simple message shown in the commercial. However, despite all the positive attention she has gotten from this commercial, Mariah's haters try to bring her down by saying that the commercial is trying to hard to get money from the public. Still, positive attention and the demands for it overpowers the negative attention that Mariah's haters try to spread. The fundraiser was a success after a day of its release and it managed to raise USD$150,000 which surpasses the initial USD$35,000 mark.

Kesha on the David Letterman Show
Kesha has visited the David Letterman Show to perform her new single 'Beautiful Mess' and to answer some questions everyone wanted the answers to.

Kesha visited the David Letterman Show to promote her new single 'Beautiful Mess'
The show started with David announcing Kesha as his guest and Kesha walking onto the stage in a skintight black minidress, a pair of red stilleto's and a half ponytail as the audience went wild.
David: Welcome Kesha. Calm down people! How are you Kesha?
Kesha: I'm doing better than ever, thank you!
D: Ah well that's always great to hear, especially after all you've been through.
K: Yes, it''s been tough, but I've managed to get through it with the help of my amazing friends and family so all is good now.
D: Talking about friends, you seem to be very close with the boy we all want, Josh Hutcherson.
K: Ehm, yeah well. Next question please!
D: Oh somebody's getting shy!
K: Yeah we're kinda figuring it out ourselves too, so I really don't wanna talk about it just yet. I mean he's been an amazing help through my rehab and problems, but we just don't know yet.
D: Alright, well I hope you two become a couple, because you two look amazing together. Back to bussiness. The music. How is it coming along?
K: It's coming along great. I've finished the album and picked the second single. We just need to figure out the last collabs. I've got some amazing plans for them.
D: Can you tell us about the next single already?
K: No, I'm sorry. My label put me on lockdown because I always spill the tea. But it's a secret right now and you'll have to do with 'Beautiful Mess' for now.
D: We can't complain about that one. What a tune! I love it!
K: Thank you! It's the most personal song I released as a single so far,s o I'm really happy with the reception it got so far!
D: It's been doing very good on the charts already and it's only out for a week. SPeaking of the charts, there's a lot of competition right now. Which one is your favourite?
K: Oh that has to be Medusa! I love me some Rihanna and the song is so fierce and just plain amazing.
D: I do like that song! Are you ready to perform your own single?
K: Yes, I'm excited!
D: Well head off to the stage and good luck. Ladies and gentleman, please give a warm welcome to Kesha with 'Beautiful Mess'.
Kesha then moved to the stage to perform a flawless version of 'Beautiful Mess'. No stage props or over the top extra's just Kesha, in her beautiful outfit, with her back-up singers and a live band. Kesha shows what she's made off and is ready to conquer pop music once again.
Kesha's new single, 'Beautiful Mess', is out now on Itunes, Amazon and physical copies are available at your local supermarket.

Promo Spot: The Voice Kids Australia

Bonnie McKee makes a surprise appearance on The Voice Kids and performs for everyone during one of the live shows.
Unbeknownst to the contestants initially, Bonnie McKee served as this week's surprise mentor for them all during their rehearsals. The kids were shocked and excited to see Bonnie and were thrilled to get their advice when it came to their performances. All of the kids were able to get a photo with Bonnie and a special giftbag with a digital copy of "Smile" to keep, even if they went home after their performances.
Bonnie guided each and every contestant vocally, as well as helped them with their song choice selections if she felt they were struggling. Bonnie spent individual one-on-one time with each of the contestants in order to achieve best results, as well as having an initial group session.
On the live performance show, Bonnie watched on as each of the contestants that she mentored performed, applauding each one and and joining the judges in giving comments and constructive criticism.
For the live elimination show, Bonnie took the stage to perform her hit "Smile" for everyone. Bonnie premiered a new upbeat mix of the song, but kept the risqué choreo to a minimum. Mel B, The Madden Brothers and Delta Goodrem all stood and applauded, as Darren McMullen came out and congratulated Bonnie on her performance, informing fans that Bonnie's latest single "Smile" was now on iTunes and in stores.

“Gunshots” lyric video and audio are now available on VEVO
Yesterday, right after Zendaya announced her sophomore album via her official website and right before the official "Gunshots" music video was released, Republic Records also decided to publish "Gunshots" lyric and audio videos on Zendaya's VEVO channel on YouTube. The lyric video of "Gunshots" is a little bit spooky, dark-themed and even badass in some kind of way. The lyric video footage was shot last week, right before the new version of this song, featuring Taylor Swift, was released on iTunes. The lyric video starts off by showing how about twenty bullets, as well as white guns, fall on a gray table. As soon as the song starts, someone, with long white nails, probably a female and Zendaya herself, since she loves long ass nails, picks up a bulle and bring it closer to the camera as it focuses on a bullet on shows... lyrics that are written on it in a white font. In the end, when all of the lyrics were showed, the same girl with long white nails picked up those two guns and put all of the bullets in them and started shooting something or someone with them as the outro played. The lyric video definitely caused some talking and it also went viral shortly after as a lot of people started sharing this video with their friends on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and other social websites. Besides going viral, lyric video also was viewed for about 500K times few hours later after its release.

Christina TEASES "Pandora's Box" + Impromptu Fan Signing

Last night, Aguilera allegedly went out with her freshly-wed husband Matt Rutler somewhere in West Hollywood. There were plenty of fans waiting for the "Beautiful" singer outside Katsuya Hollywood amongst all the flocked paparazzi. As they left the restaurant, Christina jumped into her car and took time to answer her fans whilst signing autographs and taking pictures. The usual stuff that comes with infamy, you know.
According to some of these blessed fans, they claimed that Aguilera told them that her 8th upcoming studio album - "Pandora's Box" - will be something that she has never done before, completely different, and she's really focused on it.
Since then, there has been much speculation over whether "Pandora's Box" shall be a timeless rock-y blues record or something COMPLETELY out of Christina's stratosphere and immediate comfort zone. Opera has even been considered by some die-hard theoretical Fighter enthusiasts. What an awful commotion Xtina has caused once again! We're SO looking forward to what our fave Legend X has up her sleeve and we're pretty sure it'll be amazing, like always.
Stay tuned for more Xtina news.

Aguilera's lead single "Nighthawks" is now available for purchase.

Bonnie McKee holds exclusive CD signing at Sanity
by Elliot Palmer
Bonnie McKee stopped by a Sanity store in Melbourne today to sell and sign fans' copies of her new hit single "Smile".
After performing on Sunrise and The Voice Kids, Bonnie rounded out her stay in Australia by spending some time in a busy Sanity music store in Melbourne to sign physical CD copies of "Smile", as well as posing for fan photographs.
Bonnie took the time to write personalised messages for each fan and encouraged potential customers to buy her single. One woman purchased multiple copies of the single, explaining, "when I heard that Bonnie was going to be in Melbourne I drove all the way down from Sydney just to be here. I'm getting two copies for me, as well as copies for all of my friends! They all love Bonnie."
Bonnie reflected on the experience, "I always love meeting my fans, and it was great being able to give them something as simple as a message and a signature in order to put a smile on their faces. That's what I'm all about, and that's what my song's about, too!"
As well as being in stores, Bonnie's latest single "Smile" is available for purchase on iTunes.

AGUILERA | 'Nighthawks' Music Video

The opening scene starts out with Aguilera and her supposed "partner" in an abandoned diner. This diner is dim yet vibrant at the same time. It embodies a swanky atmosphere with all of them dressed up in fine attire - reminiscent of the 40s. There's a jukebox eerily playing Nina Simone's "Sugar In My Bowl", which was released around 25 years later. They [Aguilera & her "supposed" partner] start arguing about financial issues... how Aguilera didn't make enough money. There's a guy sitting across from them who agrees that Aguilera should've done a better job. Tensions rise. Aguilera's "supposed" partner grasps her neck in an aggressive fashion and is reluctant to let go. Aguilera seeps out bitter tears. Then an employee who works at the diner offers the flustered Aguilera a mere drink. The jukebox speeds up and slows down until it keeps chanting "Nighthawks" in a deeply sadistic yet innocent undertone.
The screen soon fades into stark darkness.
A shot of crimson light is displayed on the screen for a few milliseconds.
The jukebox scratches into an abrupt stop.
'Nighthawks' kicks in.
Aguilera is writhing around sensually in a field of rose petals - highlighting a metaphorical bed of thorns. She's wearing a two-piece stringy ensemble with glass studs on her knee-high boots. This showcases her worn-out yet tight figure. Her hair is comprised into a frizzy mess. There are scars on her leg and some type of black liquid seeps out from underneath her bosom. A vixen of sorts. Aguilera's nails are near-on claws and there are visible scratches on her back. It seems as though Aguilera has been abused in some way and left in this "limbo" to rot away. She sings the first verse and pre-chorus with much resentment as she tries to find her way out of this Hell.
The cursed songstress [Aguilera] is faced with many obstacles throughout the music video: a blue-eyed little girl sits on a stool amidst the trees whilst her hair is tangled and teased by the seemingly alive branches, a mentally-handicapped old lady who wants to go back home to Kansas, and Aguilera herself. This is an interactive part of the music video where the viewers can either "ease" or "ache" the victims in question. These choices will affect how the music video ends thus increasing replay compatibility.

Aguilera's lead single "Nighthawks" is now available for purchase.
Be sure to also check out its official music video on VEVO too.
Stay tuned for more Xtina news here.

Xtina greets Power 105.1

This morning, THE 'voice of our generation' came to visit Power 105.1 studios for a quick little chat. Aguilera had released her lead single "Nighthawks" late last month in June, which will be included on her upcoming 8th studio album - "Pandora's Box". Many urban radio stations, such as ourselves, were simply set ABLAZE when Christina dropped her universally-acclaimed smash hit buzz single "Eclectic". The track itself was heavily influenced by urban vibes so we're hoping that Aguilera will be able to replicate the same success with "Pandora's Box" instead.
There's word on the street that Christina's second single of the era shall be a feature. This leaves "Tribal Haze" [M.I.A.], Spitfire [Azealia Banks]. and Abyss [Hayley Williams] as potential candidates since Aguilera's team already revealed the album tracklist of Pandora's Box, just a few days ago. So far, so good. All three features sound amazing albeit a little mysterious so we're looking forward to having all of them as the second single. Of course, there can only be one official track as the second single though.
So anyways, we spun Christina's neo-soul lead single "Nighthawks" for you guys for the first time ever. And, well, we can now reveal that it went down like a house on fire! We reveived SO many requests to play "Nighthawks" even more than before. Here at Power 105.1, we ALWAYS listen to what your listeners have to say so expect more Xtina updates in this urban radio station. Be sure to also check out Christina's most anticipated record - "Pandora's Box" - which will be up for pre-order incredibly soon.

Aguilera's lead single "Nighthawks" is now available for purchase.

Promo Spot: Macy's 4th of July Fireworks
Bonnie McKee celebrates the important day in style by performing at Macy's 4th of July Fireworks.
Along with many other successful acts, such as Ariana Grande, Hunter Hayes and Miranda Lambert, Bonnie McKee takes the stage to celebrate her independence with a special performance of her hits "American Girl" and "Smile".
Bonnie steps out in an American flag-inspired ensemble, showing her patriotism and pride in her country. Before performing, Bonnie thanks her fans and exclaims how much of an honour it is to her to perform for everyone on this special night.
First Bonnie opens up with a performance of her track "American Girl", cleverly changing some of the lyrics to fit better with the special day. The crowd seem to respond very well to the changes.
Halfway through the performance of American Girl, Bonnie transitions into her latest hit "Smile", taking the stage by storm by serving perfect vocals and flawlessly executed choreography. Bonnie also changes a line in the song to express how being able to smile about our freedom after all of this time is something that should be recognised and expressed more.
Overall Bonnie provided one of the most exciting and entertaining performances of the night.
