Whats wrong with her verses ive seen worse songs on pop harder to edit lol it can be done
There's nothing wrong with the verses lol.
I'm just saying that I doubt pop radio would continuously play a version of a song that is just "Chorus + Chorus + Bridge + Chorus", as Devon tried to suggest. It's way too repetitive and so simple.

We clown pop radio for picking up on some of the most basic songs ever, but I'm pretty sure they are not going to play a song without verses. Just no lol. All music released nowadays is really repetitive but not so much so that there is only one change up (in this case, it'd be the bridge) in a song.
I dont get why radios arent jumping all over this !! Its very radio friendly
Many reasons...it's release method wasn't the best.
Two it proves a point that things really are a package deal.
if anyone could get a hit off of relatable lyrics then wouldn't everyone?
Pills n potions suggest abuse of things even as a metaphor is...interesting
Also, as Empress Jackee Harry PNP is an allegorical representation of blah blah blah
In reality we have confusion from the GP which is why in April people were still questioning her about her new image which wasn't all that new.
You have a rapper with raunchy lyrics in ghetto fabulous chic during her mixtape eras
Then you have a barbie-ish character during the PF era which quickly turned into the Black lady gaga
then you have it spilling over to the PFRR era. Then you have a more toned down yet still flossy image during TRU era. 2013 features were raunchy edgy lyrics with a toned down yet still fashion forward image.
PNP is the first representation of a legit toned down look with toned down lyrics/visuals...her closest before that was Freedom but that was still high gloss in fashion.
So, it served its purpose but it is still something the GP is getting used to as they've seen so many different images.
Fortunately and unfortunately, its a package deal (image, marketing, promo and then the music plays into things)...over time people will gravitate to it but now it's just a matter of people getting used to it.

And serves us something like this
Jay on the hooks and spitting a quick 15 sec verse cause we don't want another Blazin 2.0
I would retire from ATRL and life if she followed up PNP with Blueprint//PinkPrint featuring Jay Z opening 5 minute intro 2 verses each.
That would be amazing.

It does matter as we are still in this thread. It's ok that it underperform but you were on the train of shading people for not knowing radio (when someone of us do) and thinking that people were calling this a flop/underperformance too soon and in fact it ended up the way many of us predicted.
I'm ok with saying that the imagery of PNP was more important that the success and now we can move on to the real radio hits vs. backpedalling of 'It doesn't matter' after it mattered so much to disagree with others on it.
Lettuce pray and really hope for the best for the rest of 2014

Pardon?
Who's backpedaling? Me saying it doesn't matter doesn't change anything.
Some of you guys don't know radio and some of your stats are grossly inaccurate and in desperate need of real information. That doesn't make you a bad person, more so severely misinformed.
Maybe if you filtered your posts and instead posted when you have things to contribute, instead of posting just to post, that wouldn't happen.
Nothing is wrong with the verses, but it's definitely not a summer song.
It was the perfect spring song though.
Sigh...
how this should have gone:
PNP (spring midtempo inspirational/aspirational single for urban/rhy)
2nd single SUMMER 14' triumphant motivational crossover hit...I told ya'll
3rd single fall 14' urban masterpiece storytelling
4th single winter 14' r&b ish baby making song
5th single spring 15' crossover pop/rhythmic urban euphoric, bragging rights
6th single summer 15' closer explaining the pinkprint

She seems excited about it too so I agree

Yep. I think that if this goes gold by the end of the summer it could possibly going platinum by the end of the era.
Just a little over 300k this. 275k was last week and I'm pretty sure it sold just as much as last week considering it rose quite a bit on iTunes during the tracking week.
We usually get exact numbers between now and Sunday.

That's true some of them don't know about radio and it's great of you to inform the uninformed about the radio; however, when people were panicking about the low updates certain people dismissed it...and turns out they were accurate.
I won't address the other emotion filled passive statements and just keep it classy and graceful.
I don't try to consume others emotions i just like a healthy debate.

Oh wait July 17/19...is near. Where's KOL? DIdn't he make predictions that this would go gold in the next two weeks
But 80% of pop songs are repetitive choruses ..... so whats the point about that
Anywayz Nicki needs that huge hit for her album or this album will sell even less than her second
You clearly don't understand what I am talking about...
Devon suggested that pop radio would love a version of the song without verses thus it is just the chorus twice followed by the short bridge and then the final chorus. The issue is I don't think there has every been a hit song that is set up like that.
Yes, 80% of ALL successful music (not just pop music) is repetitive. However, it is not repetitive to the point where you don't have any verses....
