Meh, Halep still could and should have taken that 1st set, were it not for the netcord at 4-2 up in the TB and the lack of movement to her BH side.

Bouchard reminds me of a luckier version of Petkovic with the way she plays. Will burn out soon. I like her unashamedly confident demeanor though.

i'm happy for Simona as this must've been another great experience for her. she's strong mentally so she'll know what to do next.

i like Genie and she deserves it. maybe the outcome would've been a bit different for Simona had she been at her top game but it's not as if there won't be other tournaments and more defeats will come in the future regardless. good days, off days... the Bouchard-Halep rivalry will be THE IT rivalry of this new generation, many matches to come for these 2 girls against each other.

i hope Halep withdraws from the Bucharest tournament next week. there are many Romanian people waiting for her to play home but if i were her i would withdraw.

It's only Bouchard's second year of playing professional tennis and she already got through 2 semifinal and 1 Grand Slam final

While Halep in her second year: 3R - 2R - 2R - 2R, her third year: 1R - 1R - 1R - 2R

uhm.. Halep had a breast reduction in 2011.

after the surgery, which was NOT an easy one obviously, she took her time to heal and what not. coming back on to the court, she started to play again, accomodating to her new body and basically learning everything from the scratch.

her effort is REMARKABLE.

if the very few ignorant people want to go there, Simona won her first GS at the age of 17 in Roland Garros.
