Well because it was pointless shade, calling her names etc. Or did you miss that?

No. Obviously people on here talk about songwriting credits in ridiculous ways and use it in arguments in similar ways to sales, but if you are just a reasonable person you can use your own judgement. If someone is a talented songwriter, they are a talented songwriter and should be commended as such. If someone is not a talented songwriter, then they simply don't have that talent. There is no "overrated" talent or whatever is trying to be argued here.

and lol that line is literary allusion "scarlet letter" is a reference to the book by Nathaniel Hawthorne where a woman is made to wear a red A on her, as punishment for her adultery. It's a symbol of defiance, of her going against what society (in this case, her parents) wanted her to do, hence the whole Romeo and Juliet allusions. She's their love's symbol of going against what society/her parents consider right. So in the end, 17 year old Taylor Swift is smarter than you, and if you want to discredit her songwriting ability maybe you should have picked another song

Not if it makes the song more personal. In my opinion, they sing with more passion and make it truly their own song if they wrote it with few exceptions.

I'll leave it at this.
Brandy is an icon. You are not in the studio with Rihanna. & you have not witnessed beyonce copy. I don't know what Brandy's "relevance" has to do with my initial comment, but You need to have a seat. Thank you.

what are you trying to say?

Obviously this was a metaphor, it was just a bad one. Mess at you thinking you're educating anyone about lyrics that imply someone who cheats on their husband and then gets branded with a scarlet ‘A’ for adultery. Sit

Educate her.
The only word that could have been better was the use of 'daddy'. Other than that it's a really well written song.

I mean, it's not like she hasn't written anything. I mean "Rockstar 101", "Break It Off", "You da One"… It's not a taboo topic if we're talking about personal songwriting…
