I know not to say it now, but I seriously see it all the time without "Already Reported" or "Warning Received" underneath it, consequently I was under the impression it was fine to say, regardless of whether or not it's been warned in the past, because I've never seen it warned, nor is there any mention of it in the rules. And again, is a comment like that really so destructive or personally offensive that it justifies the exclusion of others?

This topic kinda derailed to 1 big flamebait topic? From general to very specific excuses pointed down to individual faves.

Off Topic — 1 point, expires in 30 days
Either you posted something irrelevant to the thread, or posted a thread in the wrong forum.
Those "I don't need the points" and similar type of posts certainly falls for that. We cannot spoonfeed you guys with every example as there would be plenty of them. If you want to join in on the discussion, make sure it's about the topic. Other members don't need to know how many warning points you have or if you didn't read what is posted. Just simply don't post if you have nothing to contribute.

I'm not trolling actually. I would have provided the link if you had cared to ask. I have a several QOP unreleased leaks tyvm, and Jack can corroborate this. Natasha follows me on instagram, this is outrageous.

If you're sharing a streaming leak of unreleased material, then that would actually qualify as file sharing - four points, which would mean you'd be banned.
Be grateful you only got two please and thank you.

But the real gotcha gotcha is reporting that much and getting a F, while someone who reports eleven times gets an A++.

But see I thought that was on topic because I was implying I was thinking something that I wasn't willing to say for fear of getting points, and someone else might be like "I know what you're thinking " It still pertains to the topic at hand. But that's besides the point, I still don't think that's the sort of thing that's worth excluding someone for 30 days over. If I read that comment I wouldn't be like "oh for crying out loud, I want the 0.72 seconds I spent reading that back. Get back on topic would you. Far out." I would just...keep scrolling.
People post when they have nothing to contribute all the time. There is literally a thread called "how many tabs do you have open?" where people just go in and go:
"4"
"12"
"17"
"1"
"3"
"3"
"9"
"4"
"3"
"1"
Not once has someone with 5 tabs ever said to someone with 6 tabs open "OMG! I have 5 tabs open! We're pretty much twins! We're so close!" Technically that's on-topic but what does it contribute? Yet trying to be cryptic and imply something without saying it because you don't want points, in the hopes that someone will know what you mean and be like " " is somehow off-topic?

You see, that's the thing with those kind of posts. You're basically admitting that you're thinking of posting flamebait material or any other post that is deemed warnable. Why not just stay out of the topic and avoid it if you don't really want to earn points.
I'd rather give reminders to first-time offenders or at least to people who seem to be apologetic than people whose intentions are to start an argument.

Mine wasn't flamebait though. I was just using that as an example. I actually wouldn't "Let me not. I don't need the points" if it was cryptic flamebait because if it was obvious what I was thinking/withholding then technically its still flamebait. What I used it in was this thread:
http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.ph...5#post22198345
My comment has since been deleted But I was implying that she looked like a man, which I didn't want to say because I was concerned that could be perceived as transphobic and might offend any trans members on ATRL and I'm not transphobic so I didn't want to do that. Then multiple members went on to say what I was thinking, like "is that really a woman?" and "She looks like a man."
I even brought it up in HQ, multiple times, but it got ignored. Probably cause I write novels. Sorry

How is saying "Let me not. I don't need the points." warnable for being off-topic? It's not off-topic. It's on-topic. It's simply the declaration that I'm withholding my thoughts on the issue. I've seen it hundreds of times on ATRL. Why am I getting warning points for it when others aren't?
Is that really the sort of behaviour that's so horrible that you kick people out for it?
Furthermore, what happens if people underneath my comment go ahead and say what I was thinking anyway? And what happens if the person who reported me quotes my comment, quotes the "Warning Received" and posts a picture gloating about the fact that they gave me points?
The comment in question is this:
http://atrl.net/forums/showthread.ph...5#post22198345
And the subsequent comments are everyone saying that she looks like a man, which I didn't want to say because I thought that might be perceived as being transphobic, which I'm not.

I get really angry when I get warning points and I apologise to the mods who read my complaints in HQ as my tone (towards you guys and the rules) often seems really vitriolic. I don't mean to come across as rude or hostile, even though I do. I'm learning the ropes of ATRL and I'm getting better at monitoring my own behaviour to avoid getting points. But it's just I hardly see how a comment like the one above is worthy of warning someone, or contributing to kicking them out from the community when it's a great online forum to socialise on. This is why I have what I have written in my signature.
Like I just want to know why I got warned for saying "I don't need the points" when others don't get reported for making that exact same comment all the time. It wasn't even the most off-topic comment in that thread. I'd apply to have it revoked, but I know that it wouldn't and I don't want to waste your time. But I just want to know why a comment gets a warning point when other people make the exact same comment all the time and it's fine.
Again, sorry if my tone seems hostile. I don't mean for it to be. I'm just confused and I hardly see how it's fair.

Could someone please address these? I understand that they're long, and I apologise for writing so much, but I took this back to the thread where I got warned (asking people why I got warned) because it didn't get addressed here, and then I got another message from ATRL-o-matic telling me to bring it back to HQ, even though when I did it was ignored.
