The award isn't just about success, it's about impact. Even though Fancy is doing well right now, you can't compare that to Nicki's longevity in the game. Let's compare debut album sales, shall we? Pink Friday sold 375,000 copies in it's first week. As of June 25th, The New Classic (released in April) had sold 192,000. Pink Friday also charted #1 on Billboard 200. The New Classic at #3. The award was rightfully earned so stop downplaying Nicki's success.
