As much as I adored Applause as the lead single, it didn't set the world on fire like Aura did when it leaked. This, combined with a Telephone continuation music video, would have been perfect as a lead. Classic Gaga chorus, it's her best one since Bad Romance.

Not every song has to be some Plato-sized, thought-provoking genius. Electric Chapel is concise and effective in creating the atmosphere/microcosm of a dirty bar playing rock music. They're streamlined and effective lyrics, on ARTPOP it's just clunky and dumb.
