Every girl nominated in the category deserves the award, but some girls have done more and better in certain areas than the others. There's no clear winner atm considering all of the girls have pros and cons for why they should get the award.

If Iggy wins, we know it is b/c of her #1 and #2.
If Nicki wins, we know it is b/c she has wowed people in the last year/gotten acclaim for her new look and musical direction + held the streets down with Lookin' Ass / Chi-Raq and had a successful solo single + a successful featured one.
And so on.

If Iggy doesn't win, it is because she has little too show for besides a #1 and a #2.
If Nicki doesn't win, it is because she doesn't have a #1.
And so on.

Iggy is doing stuff no other mainstream female rapper has tried doing in recent years, except like Becky G. Mixing pop, dance and hip-hop together without the wishy washiness Nicki always does. Iggy has very clearly put in effort, and in my opinion more effort than Nicki has the past year. Nicki to me is becoming complacent. Iggy is taking risks, and learning from her mistakes and improving quite quickly.
