NOW, pop fans are not buying hip-hop albums. Hip-Hop fans are. And I can guarantee you, hip-hop fans do not give a damn as to whether Justin Timberlake and Beyonce are on a Jay-Z album or not And Kanye wasn't even on MCHG.
Do you really think the album sold because of three features? I would see if you were talking about singles, but the album sis?
Yes. He will always get a solid first week because the fanbase is loyal, but beyond that, he needs singles with pop artists to have him continue selling.
I agree that Kanye is a bigger celebrity than Jay but he's married to Kim Kardashian after all.
Kanye's total is barely higher than Jay's first week and I don't think he did any promo performances.
Kanye did SNL, VMAs, talk shows, released more singles, and did a video with topless Kim.
Yeah Jay-Z has some power with the bigger empire and fanbase and all, but I really think Kanye could take him out and his career will be more remembered.

Jay-Z is a ****ing legend and is actually going to be remembered and is respected unlike whoever you stan for
And he has way more iconic, classic, and acclaimed songs than your fav can dream of.
Nobody's denying that. It's just he hops on anything that gets him relevance now, and it shows. Also obvious that Kanye > Jay-Z.

They do if the singles crossover to pop radio. Hip-hop fans don't wait to buy the album, they either cop it or download it the week it drops/leaks.
Kanye was on Run This Town, another crossover hit thanks to him and Rihanna only.

His classic.
Bruh, Kanye has a much bigger fanbase than Jay. Nobody's checking for Jay anymore.
I don't hate Jay-Z. I respect him and I like him and Bey but they've become SO obnoxious over the past year or so. Like, y'all are married. We get it. Everything you do doesn't have to involve the other. I don't want to have to hear a Jay verse every time I listen to Beyonce. It's almost like they don't have individual identities anymore. They're turning into like a duet group or something. It's excessive. They're not Sonny&Cher or Ike&Tina. They're Beyonce Knowles & Jay-Z. They're both stars in their own right.
