The Celebrity 100 is self-explanatory. It's about how big of a celebrity you are, not just the money you make. But it sounds like not even Madonna's money was enough to keep her on the list.

Actually that's not true at all.
Forbes speaks to the artists people/ management etc etc etc.
Madonna is one of the ONLY stars that does not disclose her net worth or earnings so even when estimating forbes have nothing to go off.
But anyways, don't take my word for it. Examine the facts.
1. She is the best selling female recording artist worldwide, having sold over 300 million albums. Madonna owns the rights to all of her music and also has an unprecedented royalties deal - the same as Michael Jackson. In fact Madonna and Michael are the two people in music that make the highest percentage of royalty payments - Do you think a back catalogue of 30 years wouldn't generate millions?
2. Madonna has owned her merchandise rights since the 1980s - her companies “WEBO GIRL” and “BoyToy Inc” are the ones that move her merchandise.
3. Last year, her perfume range bought in 48 million pounds - Do you think that all of a sudden stopped?
4. 7 million pounds was made through her investment in vita coco - Again, do you think that stopped?
5. Hard candy (her gym) made her in excess of 20 million last year - Hard candy is still active and successful and making money, Bangup.
Your comments really wreak of lack of knowledge. I don't think forbes are out to get her at all (like your earlier comment) I simply think that they don't do the research because her "people" business partners etc etc etc don't cooperate. - That's how forbes work. Corporation from the people in this business.
Anyways, since when is power measured by Money? or Money making?
Madonna was named the most influential woman ever, this year.
She was nominated into the song writing hall of fame.
Her Instagram has caused WW controversy
She appears on a tv show and they get the highiest ratings they have ever had.
The problem here is not Madonna making less money than she did while on tour. The problem is their methodology - Money = power - It's kind of ridiculous tbh.
