Do What U Want and MANiCURE were definitely post hip break. She wrote DWUW during the time when everyone kept saying she cancelled the BTWB because of poor ticket sales. MANiCURE was never mentioned in 2012 or early 2013 so I'm guessing it wasn't pre hip break.
I wanna be with you was pre hip break because she tweeted those lyrics before cancelling the BTWB. Dope was post hip break. I don't think Any of the supposed song titles mentioned in the ARTPOP announcement were song titles to begin with. Onion Girl was probably post hip break too

The final version was, but I think she had some demos or at least one of the chorus already recorded or something. It was the last song to be recorded.

Yes, I remember she said in the G A Y club in London where she debuted the song that she wrote and recorded it while finishing ARTPOP.

The song didn't even exist in July it was the Applause era seashell girl and her fans begging her to make a song called Venus what inspired her I think. The only songs that were really considered for lead single were Aura, Gypsy and Applause.

But look at this that was on Gagapedia:

It was revealed on July 24, 2012, that Douglas Aldrich, the guitarist of Whitesnake, was recorded playing guitar on a track in Los Angeles. He tweeted twice about it, with the tweets being deleted later.

"Just got home from playing guitar on a killer track from one of our most popular female artists. Miss Lady Gaga. [She is] very sweet and great singer." He added, "I say she's sweet but she's a badass. . . [It was a] real fun day. I understand why she is mega. Super talented!"

Plus, the V Magazine column she did in August/September 2012 was based around manicures.



I can kinda agree with the possibility of "Do What U Want" being written after the tour ended, but in this video (at around 9:07) she says that around the time she made the song, her mother called her talking about how she was on the news for her weight gain. I think she might've written the first verse and chorus by this time, the second verse around the time of her hip breaking, and the rest of the song when she started working on it again in August/September 2013.
