Theres a difference from using negative to prevent positivity and just keeping it real. I'm not one of those people who always say "It's because I'm black", whenever something doesn't go my way, but I'm still very well aware of issues in our society. Yes it is true, black people dwell on it too much, when in fact they could be doing way much more with their lives. But that still doesn't take away from the fact that racism is still in effect. A lot of the times, it's us black people who put each other down (skin color, etc.) Rihanna gets so much hate because she can't "sing" but look how Britney has millions of fans when her voice isn't any better. Janet and Justin were both involved in that superbowl accident, but yet Janet gets banned from TV. Britney, Lindsey, and Paris Hilton act like complete fools, yet Whitney Houston and Michael are laughing stocks of the industry (yes they act like fools too, but it's not right). This topic was even discussed on the Tyra Show, how rappers (50 cent, The Game, etc.) are constantly brought up in the news, to make us African-Americans look bad. That's one of the reasons why Rihanna, Chris Brown and Beyonce don't talk about their persnal lives. Just like in the 2007 VMAS, when Kid Rock and Tommy Lee fought, 50 cent made sure everyone know that "NOT ONLY RAPPERS FIGHT", but rock and roll artists do too. Why? because blacks are always portrayed in a negative light. Just like on the news, when white teenagers do something wrong, its not as a big of a deal, but when black kids do something wrong, it's such A HUGE DEAL. I'm not promoting ignorance, cause I am far from ignorant, but I am just saying how I feel.
