It's not their fault, they generally come from uneducated backgrounds and have had it instilled in them that men are superior and that the best thing a woman can ever accomplish is to keep a man happy and not do anything that "deserves" a beating. This is why they will brush off attempted murder by a an angry, unstable male but exaggerate any fault a female makes.

Same, my friends still watched his videos religiously and one of them even said that she was a "fake ****" who got what was coming to her. Years later, she realized how wrong this was and she even likes Rihanna now.
