The only difference between jail and prison is the duration of the sentence. Both contain criminal trash and people who stan for then are bound to have the same characteristics

Chris is a convict, point blank. It's literally not an arguable thing, and yours are the some of the definitions I've ever seen that can be pretended to be alleging that prison is a full requirement in the application of the word. Like, do you see it in these?

1. A person found or declared guilty of an offense or crime.
2. A person serving a sentence of imprisonment.

Or this?

a person found guilty of a criminal offense and serving a sentence of imprisonment.

Or this?

2. (Law) a person found guilty of an offence against the law, esp one who is sentenced to imprisonment

Or this?

3. a person proved or declared guilty of an offense.

And let me make note right now that "imprisonment" is not exclusive to a literal "prison" if you're differentiating prison and jail.
