That snippet was one of the best moments of the whole era for me. To this day, the song is to some degree a letdown to me because it's not as dark and hellish. It feels so next level even now.

I personally look for cheap thrills so I don't need that much depth in pop songs. Though some songs like Janelle's Cold War or Miike Snow's Animal strike such a chord with me.

Ugh, seriously. My only complaint about the album is that it didn't go hard enough. I was surprised by how not-industrial the final (albeit still AMAZING) mix was.

Red and Speak Now are far from boring. Have you even listened to her albums in full? I understand why you'd call her first 2 albums boring since one is country pop, the other one is traditional country/country rock though, they're still masterpieces regardless.
