"It's going extremely well" just likely means that she's happy with the material and that she doesn't have writers block or is "struggling" to come up with material like some articles have said.
I never bought that she couldn't come up with amazing material anyways once she got comfortable with writing again since she has so much stuff to possibly write about (relationship, kid, her deadbeat father - if she wanted to, etc).

I actually prefer her newer music a lot. I'm Not Dead, Funhouse, and The Truth About Love are flawless albums. I really don't like Try This too much. Missundaztood is good. Can't Take me Home is okay though I'm not sure if I remember how it sounds. I'm a flop maybe I'll listen to it again today. The Truth About Love is my favorite album from her. My sig should really say "P!nk (mostly only her newer music)" xD
