This was basically my reaction, too. I found Taeyang's comment on the album ironic so I was shading him for that but once I listened to the album I was so surprised. So listenable.

I think Kris is leaving because the schedule was too hectic for his heart condition. The reason why people don't like him for that is the timing of his departure, he left with only a week or so from their first solo concert, which is a big deal in itself. When it comes to choreography, EXO are structural, and build formations using the twelve of them. With a member missing, some of their formations would be much more difficult to execute and so basically the entire concert had to be re-learned to suit 11 members rather than twelve within an extremely short time period.
Not to mention they had to do this in the middle of "Overdose" promotions, too.
If Kris is genuinely ill then I don't blame him for leaving, it's more the way he left (filed the lawsuit and disappeared / SM couldn't contact him) which made things way more complicated for the other members when they weren't even sure if he'd be back for the concert or not (apparently SM tried to get him to do the concerts before he left but he wouldn't respond).
(I'm talking about the guy, to clarify)
