Hopefully the album will be released in August. Releasing it the week of the Teen Choice Awards (August 10th) would be ideal. The VMAs are too far away.

I think this is all Ariana's fault. She's been hyped about this song for months, tweeting lyrics from it and talking about it being her favorite song. Even when Problem was slaying, she was always tweeting the lyrics to this song.
In this interview at 4:06 she says, "My whole team is like 'Oh it's too early to pick a new single' but I'm really leaning towards that one."
I wouldn't be surprised if she's been pushing for it.
