I think this can either break Britney's record or underperform hard if they decide on surprise iTunes release. But if it really works out for her I'm sure she'll have much more success in the long run than Beyonce because Adele's music is actually good so it won't die after the first month.

Beyonce's sales came from casual fans as well. It was her biggest first week sales ever as a solo artist. The way she released it was why she got those sales, not because she has some loyal fanbase.

And Adele has a huge following on social media. Why do people think Adele's only fans are old people?

Dido sold 21m copies of her first album and sold 400,000 copies of her 2nd album first week.

I can see Adele doing something like 500k - 800k and staying consistent.
