I feel like the quote about her putting the "finishing touches" on LP5 is too good to be true! I mean, Red isn't even two years old and doesn't it seem crazy after two solid years of work for Red to go straight back to work promoting a new lead single and album? And how on earth in the past couple years has she found time to write and record an album?

Having said that, I'm an Avril Lavigne stan so long waits between album's is inevitable to me - and hearing "my album's finished" actually means another year at least until release.

I don't think she's worked on LP5 long enough tbh. She started working on it in late June last year, I think, according to some interview. I don't think 1 year is enough for her to produce a quality album. I guess she knows what she's doing though. Hopefully.

That's still longer than what most mainstream artists spend and knowing that she writes like crazy, I'm not too worried.

Although 2 years between two albums isn't long at all, as a fan it seems like an eternity!

I blame the internet and social networks! My mum said when she was young that you didn't really hear about a band/artist releasing an album until it was getting released, so you didn't really think about it until you saw posters/newspaper adverts. Nowadays, artists are hyping album's for at least a year before release.

I think she meant she writes whatever comes to her mind but she waits longer before deciding which songs she puts on her albums to make sure they're the right ones not just on top of the head poor decisions.
