Sometimes. She's not a bad writer at all, but she's very inconsistent though and like I said she tends to over uses the same motifs/references in a lot of her songs.

SO u want her to be more vanilla like Taylor? Lana writes about her own thoughts and experiences, doesn't matter how melodramatic they may be. People love that about her and she's passionate about it.

No offense either, but I thought that I didn't get it and then I found out that I do get it. I'm very aware of what exactly her music wants to convey and what she intends to convey with her lyrics. My problem with her is that, while I do enjoy her moodiness and the production of her songs, is not always able to powerfully convey her thoughts/philosophy so much of her music is really nonsensical for me. Yeah, I get what she wants to do, but she's not doing it. That's my whole issue with her.

Like she sings about how crazy she is without every conveying any sense of madness. Saying "I'm crazy, I'm crazy, I'm crazy" "(something she does on Cruel World, for example) won't make you sound crazy.

I agree, but in my experience most of her fans seem to think it's all about the lyrics. I even talked to one yesterday who was upset with the new album because the vocals were distorted so much that you couldn't understand the lyrics, concluding that she needed better producers.

Ultraviolence is a good album but it's a little too depressing. Like BTD, it starts to get really underwhelming.
