Opulence isn't a major theme of Lorde's album at all though. It's basically just Royals. And Royals is "anti-opulence".

It's not really shady - she's openly admitted that Royals was written about songs that have that sort of stuff as a major theme.

"But every song's like gold teeth, Grey Goose, trippin' in the bathroom" etc. etc. etc.

Would it really though? Even with the massive success of BTD, she only sold 1m in the US. US is not her primary market, and they don't use her as much as Europe does.
