A lot of hype pre-release + radio picking it up and then dropping it too fast + no promo whatsoever until the 2nd single was released + the video taking too long to come out.
The OC went to **** after Season 2. Season 1 was amazing, 2 was good, 3 was awful, 4 was just blah.
Gossip Girl basically followed the same trajectory but somehow managed 6 seasons....I did love how they ended GG, though. It did tie up well.
90210 actually had a better S2 than 1 but anything after that was messy, too. I guess it all has to do with the fact that once these kids leave HS, everything gets weird.

But we all know that the true reason is that world just wasn't ready for all that DUBSTEP Brinny was inventing.
Bey's label needs to abandon PH. I could've seen it being a hit if they had released it immediately after the album came out, but the song lost its hype and I see most of her fans not liking it anymore. Honestly though, no other song besides DIL was going to be a hit at that time because DIL was getting all the focus from people (especially with it practically going viral with surfborT, watermelon, etc.) PH just seems like a snub.
I hope she releases more singles, especially if her label really wants to secure her a large amount of Grammy noms. Just keep her name alive. She should hypothetically release a radio edit of ***Flawless (honestly I don't see her doing this though), and Mine is a must-release. Mine is too good not to release, even if pop won't touch it. I could see Mine being an urban/rhythmic hit in the Fall.
Pls stop backtracking, we're talkin' about YouTube views here (they decide classics). Katy wins (but hey what's new), lol.
The current generation don't buy Madonna's 'classics' so we obviously can't use sales in this case. We can only go by Youtube views and compare them with the other divas of that time
Global iTunes Artist Ranking
8. Katy Perry
11. Shakira
23. Rihanna
24. Adele
31. Beyonce
32. Lorde
42. P!nk
56. Miley Cyrus
68. Christina Aguilera

Excluding Lana who just released her album Katy is still the top woman in music after all these months
at Gags not even being good for a throwback these days
Madonna's view counts on YouTube are really impressive considering she's an indie niche artist!!!
And the 3 Femme Fatally Ruined My Career singles are my 3 favorite Britney songs aside from Circus and the two relevant pre-2008 songs, OIDIA and BOMT.
