It's a long history.. But Britain invented football so they created their own leagues and matches with England vs Scotland vs Wales, so it's just been that way from tradition. Plus they're their own countries anyway so it was never really a problem. Some territories even have their own team, like Aruba and French Guiana.

I've always HATED God Save The Queen as our national anthem. As someone who doesn't really believe in god and doesn't care too much for the royal family it's hard for me to feel patriotic when hearing it. I dunno I feel like a national anthem should be about national pride.
