I think there is a chance of her releasing the first single before the promotion of The Giver so that she can promote both at the same time. Also, she would bring a lot of attention on The Giver and The Giver fans would give a lot of attention to her, so it would work both ways. (if they stop hating on her small cameo for 3 minutes, maybe they'll find enough time to listen to the song)

No one knows if her cameo will be good or not, Taylor fans expect it to be good, The Giver fans think she'll ruin everything.

IMO, I don't think it'll be astonishing, but not disappointing either. It's a small 3 minutes thing after all, you can't expect that much and if it's bad, her 3 minutes won't ruin the movie anyway. (it probably wont be bad though)
