I agree with you it's not a big deal but you shouldnt encourage people to continue using Holland if its clearly wrong.  Ill admit I genuinely didnt know the difference until it was explained just now. But Ill use the Netherlands exclusively from now on. Makes sense.

It's not wrong.
Holland is a general term most people, especially tourists, use.
Holland is the economical, touristical centre of the country, you can compare it to Groningen city and Groningen provincie, if you live in Veendam you're still a Groninger.
