During Adele's slayage you never heard anyone going around stanning for Adele and claiming her. You heard her on the radio, but it was never like you went to a Club heard her (I wouldn't know but yeah still), went to a friend's and heard her, etc.

Well, without club remixes, Adele's music is not very club-friendly, so that isn't a good comparison. Her songs were ubiquitous in other ways, like in trailers, popular television shows, etc.
