And in real life i'm just a Taylor Swift fan who hasn't had a girlfriend. I'm the good kid that always hangs around girls because I am "a nice boy" that treats girls right, but not dating material.

I'm a real life first verse of "Mine"
I had four best friends growing up, Jim, Tom, Nate, and Anthony (not their real names)
All four of their parents got divorced during grade school and into high school
Mine were the only ones to stay together
During freshmen year, Jim, the one that was my best friend, dropped me and doesn't talk to me anymore, Tom and Nate talk to me every so often to see what's up, and Anthony is the only one i still do things with sometimes.
Since being dropped by the people I relied on for most of my life, I don;t really feel like making that many new friends/forming serious relationships if they're just going to end in 2 years when I go to college. Yes, I have a couple of really good friends now, but I just feel like "What's the point"

And then it's like if I try, what if I'm rejected?
I've had this thing going with this girl for about a year, but nothing was ever official and I just feel like why put so much energy into something with someone that I know I'm not going to stay with?
