ARTPOP was one of the very few Western albums that debuted at #1 in Japan and the album went #1 on the international charts of China, South Korea and various other Asian countries. Not to mention she's one of the very few artists, if not the only female one besides Taylor, who can tour there because there's demand. ARTPOP debuted at #1 on the US charts (thanks to Interscope REMOVING Eminem's album from several stores just so they could secure a #1 debut for ARTPOP!), but that doesn't change the fact that she declined. Gaga declined everywhere. She's now a nostalgia act.
