People buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games, no one gives two ***** about 3rd party games on Wii or Wii U. How can you generalize the (small) population of Wii U owners and what they want? you have to remember that it is the cheapest "next gen" console on the market. Who's saying they don't enjoy both Nintendo and multi plat games and are hoping to get both like the Wii had?

Believe me, I'm having plenty of fun with my PS4 Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition, inFamous: Second Son, Watch Dogs, and I just got the Battlefield: Hardline beta. You should try them... unless the only next gen console you own is Wii U

Even during Wii U's peak era they still have less games than PS4 while ha stans remains seething with dem exclusives that don't sell wii u even in Japan their biggest market.

1. Wii had a very dry first two years as well and still smashed.
2. Wii was even further behind than the Wii-U was. Also still smashed.

The problem with the Wii-U has always been branding. If EVERY 3rd party game was released on the Wii-U it would make NO difference.

thats because Nintendo has made it so that 3rd party developers have to waste their time gimping their game so it can be ported to a last gen console and thus removing features

If Nintendo would have created a console that was on par with this gen 3rd party games would have made a difference but instead it has decided to become a niche company resulting in poor sales

1) Wii also sold a TON of consoles at launch because of the hype around the console itself so there were already plenty of people to buy future games.

2) Again... hype around the console itself. The motion controller was a huge deal and opened a new segment in the gaming community. The Wii U didn't have a gimmick like that to propel it.

like you have forgotten that the reason the Wii sold a lot was because of its gimmick
and the PS3 struggled in the begging to due Sony fumbling with the price

Playstation has only had one average era and even then it came in 2nd place
while Nintendo is going on its second with a huge decline. Its unable to keep a dominance in the gaming world era after era

1) Uh, maybe because every gen the best selling games for Nintendo consoles are largely Nintendo-made games? Maybe because every gen, the Nintendo consoles (and handhelds) see their biggest sales bumps when a new Mario/Zelda/Animal Crossing etc. game come out? It's not THAT hard to see and understand!

And again, Nintendo fans =/= Sony/Micosoft fans. They don't care about hardware and top-of-the-line graphics, they care about user experience and fun. ****ing Wii Sports is the most basic game (graphically) I can think of, yet people bought the Wii just to play that because it was intuitive and fun So yes, I will still say the problem is with differentiation. It's basically serving the same experience as the Wii but with the gamepad. Had Nintendo come up with something more excitingly different, there would be no hesitation to buy the console regardless of gaming selection. It needed a better "gimmick," really.

lol, you sound like such an annoying little ****. Get the stick out of your ass. You're right though, I don't own a PS4 yet! Might have something to do with the fact that there are no good games (imo) available yet. I get much more enjoyment out of my PS3 still than I would from a PS4 (though I must admit I've only been playing old PS2 HD remasters lately, oops)



FYI I stan for Sony as well so don't get me wrong, PS4 is a great console and will have great games eventually. All I'm saying is that you guys need to realize Nintendo consoles are not affected by 3rd party games; people who buy Nintendo consoles buy them to play Mario and the like

Focusing on games breeds long term success. Maybe some day other companies will realize that it is about the games first.
