THE ONE TRUE KING OF WESTEROS.

But the show has done Stannis DIRTY. He's not nearly as boring as he is in the show, he actually cracks jokes in the books! Plus he's probably the only contender for the Throne that actually cares about Westeros rather than a ridiculously uncomfortable chair. The show paints him as Melisandre's whipping boy, but Stannis never does anything he doesn't think is just. You'll see the light eventually.

Also, I was so impressed by Lord Thorne, when he was fighting Tormund I was incapable of choosing who to root for? I hated Thorne most of the season but he became such an impressive leader in the episode it was hard for me to root for his demise.

Episode 2 was the PEAK of the season.. the Purple wedding was excuisite!! continuing on to Sansa escaping in the beggining of Episode 3 was like Perfection!!

the BEST part of the episode was that they gave the Purple wedding around 20-25 minutes which i think is the right amount to do any major event, like they did with the Red Wedding!

Some events deserve their due time.. because its not just enough to show us the fun dying part real quick, you need to develop towards it! (LOOKING AT YOU.. ****ING 8 MINUTE SCENE SUMMARISING LYSA'S CRAZY AT THE END OF EP7!!! still pissed as hell at that!! )
even Oberyn's last episode could have been offered more! like Tyrion's Scene with Jamie, we could have gotten His scene with Illyria!

other scenes on the other hand can be done in less than an entire episode.. specially when they're not even gonna get finished.. like last night!!
i dont mind the fact that the battle is being continued to the next episode.. i have been ranting about how they rush moments the entire season!!! but THIS is not the time to start giving events their full time when you have loads to cover and you're giving the battle ****ing 70-80 minutes to follow through.
would it have killed them to delete a couple conversations from earlier episodes and start the battle in episode 7 or 8 and stretch it comfortably over 4 episodes 15 minutes each? stannis would still have reached the wall in the episode 9 segment and made it the highlight of the season!

now my starks will have to suffer with their time in the finale

y'know when i came to this thread first time around episode 7-9 last season, i used to skip over all the spoilers too and it was so damn hard!!! cuz when a statement is stopped in between with a spoiler.. its too hard to resist reading the rest!
so basically some people were expecting the elusive LSH charachter to appear last season too so i read that and googled it and was spoiled SO BAD!!! although it comes as such a surprise in the book that i didnt realise i was reading that charachter's introduction until i was a line or two away from the revelation.

I even got spoiled about Petyr killing Lysa.. well that one happened cuz i used to read the last paragraph of each book before starting the book and the last para, even the last line of ASOS is so well written "Are you hurt my lady?" 'No' "well then let the guards in, the singer killed my lady wife!"

I feel the same way..I liked the big giants and the mammoths..but it didn't have any kind of shock factor that I love. It was a solid episode..but nothing spectacular.

I'm hoping next week's finale leaves me permanently scalped!

I still believe that Arya and The Hound's 'adventures', that weren't in the book, should've been cut or shortened. Although I do enjoy their dynamic in the show.

This season was not the season for filler scenes, because the second half of SOS is just too massive and filled with so many key events.

But who knows maybe they can pull it off in 66 minutes. I have my doubts though. I'll be upset if any storylines that should've ended this season cross over into Season 5. Which should be strictly AFFC and ADWD material.
