I honestly think it's because Capitol/EMI/whatever label they're on RN don't feel the need to push them on radios. They count on Coldplay to be consistent album sellers (which they are to an extent, although their declining numbers since Viva are concerning), which lulls them into a false sense of security when it comes to making one of their songs a mega smash hit. Paradise from the MX era is the perfect example of a song that, given the actual full push it deserved, could have been so much more. Same thing with POC.

This though. The other day I was with my aunt and cousin in the care and when Dark Horse came on we were all singing along to it, but when Birthday came on everyone was silent and really didn't pay any mind to it

I love Katy, but birthday seems to be a radio filler song. People don't dislike it, but aren't going to go out of their way to buy it either. It's just a nice listen to most people

Exactly ! And my point was not to compare the two but more to explain that 5 M Al of airplay after 12 days of release isnt "Slayage" or "Smashing" as one member keeps stating day in and day out lol
