As always, MTV sucks. They should be performing NEW songs, not OLD songs. Why else would Hitlist stations that don't play the newer songs be lower in ratings than the stations that do play current songs?

Depends. Like at "Grammy", they always perform old songs. It's a way to recognise the big effort that all the artists put into great music pieces of the year.
