Yes Umbrella had more impact than Firework in the past and overall but that is not what the OP is asking.
Umbrella is not remembered now. When people think of Rihanna they think of We Found Love, Diamonds, perhaps Only Girl and Where Have You Been, etc. Umbrella is forgotten.
Firework is still one of Katy's main big hits along with Roar, E.T. and Dark Horse.
The answer to the question (which is bigger NOW) is Firework.
Considering umbrella was released 7 years ago and firework 3 yrs ago, one would hope firework is the bigger one now. And the question is "is firework bigger than umbrella" to which the answer is a resounding no.
And where have you been and only girl being signature hits and umbrella not being remembered
How can you say that when I posted the Coldplay video. How is not remembered now?
Coldplay is a rock band and their fans probably have not so much connections with pop music world but the whole stadium was still singing with her.
How can you honestl say it's not remembered?
One Coldplay show =/= being remembered WW. Seriously.

Read the poll, sis. It's about now. Firework was released almost 4 years ago now, too. Firework is bigger than Umbrella now, and that's a resounding yes.
People who said Firework is more remembered than Umbrella, hum seriously
Firework was released at the END of 2010 when Umbrella was released in April 2007, so obviously the GP has maybe more Firework in mind because the song is more recent. That doesn't mean Umbrella is forgotten.
Then, Umbrella was #1 in the UK during TEN weeks. The song is just more global than Firework (who was extremely successful tho). Maybe, Firework is a big thing in the US (because of the 4th July) but worldwide it's just another very successful single from Teenage Dream. It's still Katy's biggest hit worldwide tho.
I can't at you trying to bring the sales and certifications when we all know the singles sales in 2011were so much bigger than those in 2007.
For umbrella to have done as great as it did for it's time it was a huge hit.
Girlfriend (which was released around the same time as Umbrella) went 4x platinum in Australia, so if Umbrella only went Platinum then even at the time it couldn’t have been that huge there

The hook ALONE inspired pop songs after it, and its become a standard in pop music.
Call me when a whole arena literally screams your entire song like this:
Also look at this. Internet was not even that big in 2007.
And y'all using sales as argument?
Umbrella's debut week was the biggest at that time, and we all know 2011 was the peak of digital sales so obviously Firework sold more. If Umbrella was released in 2011, it would've sold loads more than Firework and probably the same as Poker Face, JD, CMM..
Y'all Kats stay calm with those ****** lyrics "do you ever feel like a plastic bag"

And how much is 4X platinum in Australia?
Plus let's not base all this reasoning in one market, which isn't even among the ten biggest music markets in the world.
Umbrella sold over 4M in the U.S alone, not many songs released in it's time can brag about those numbers.
