Had an argument/discussion with my mom about why Adele is not a better songwriter than Taylor. She said Adele's lyrics were deep while Taylor songs were light (No, she's never heard 22, IKYWT or WANEGBT thankfully). Told her that Adele's strong voice can sometimes be deceiving, giving an impression that the lyrics she's singing are powerful, but when you have a closer look, you find out that the lyrics might be not as great/deep as you thought they were. She asked me what my fav Taylor songs were/which lyrics of hers I thought were deep, so I picked ATW. She asked me to sing it for her I sort of sang-talked through the whole song. She was impressed, especially by the bridge and "I might be okay, but I'm not fine at all" line. She asked me if she was the one wrote that, so I said yeah, and told her that Adele doesn't write all of her material, having written 80%-85% of 19 and only 60%-65% of 21 after many critics pointed out that her voice was stronger than her lyrics on 19.
Lol the only song on Red that Adele could have written is I Almost Do. And we all know where that song stands when ranking the album's best-written songs.

Don't do too much on Adele though, she is a good songwriter.
I think we all agree that her singles choices are horrible. It's like she/her label wants to distract people from what she has inside her heart and soul.
