What he said is horrible but he's owning up to it and taking responsibility for his actions and that's what matters. Hopefully this serves as a lesson both to him and everyone else
That's exactly why this is so damning. This happened during a time when everyone thought he was a good kid. Since then he has only gotten worse, so thinking he's changed is just delusional.

He knew what the KKK is, that's why he referenced joining them after killing black people. There's no excuse for this.
