Not really, the screen cannot be behind the castle because then you wouldn't be able to see it.
And the castle serves no purpose other than to hide the band.

Not to mention the catwalks are, like, the most important part of the show. Without them, the stage is boring. I have a feeling they can change length to fit any arena.
