I'm a black person who comes from a successful, two-parent home and have a sister. We've always been a core family unit. The Father's Day joke doesn't fly.

No one in my family uses the n-word.

Not with an "a" and certainly not with an "er" and pretty much everyone in my social circle growing up was raised in the same upper middle class lifestyle.

That said, this "humor" is really just hurtful.

There are other ways to make jokes about cultural or even religious differences without resorting to complete insults.
