I didn't know who lorde was until the media played up the beef she had with Taylor. I know they are friends now but I still think she's a one hit wonder.
My friend who was once in the record industry here in the US said one of Beyoncé's problem is that she never gave props to the legends . That's why they side with Mariah, they love Mariah. Taylor on the other hand, always gave respect to Reba, Dolly, Shania, Dixie Chicks, Faith Hill and even Leann Rimes.
Taylor is much Bigger than Beyoncé in the US. It's so interesting to me how different each culture see artists. Lana Del Rey is so non-existent in the US and yet she's big overseas. Same with Pink. People know about Katy in the US, yet they don't buy her albums or at least at the level of Taylor.. I love RiRi ,but nobody here buys her albums.
