3. Paula Deen use of the word was used to disrespect. On top of that, her description of having a restaurant with all black servers in black caricature sealed her fate. Paula Deen's intent and Louis intent are two completely different things.

I invite anyone defending the word to change the minds of billions of people while going back in time to change history.

Until you can do that, I do my best to avoid using the word. In fact, I'm successful. There is never a point I feel the need to use it.

When you have a stuck up attitude about it, all you do is create more tension. Let's co-exist, we're all people. There are plenty of societal rules that we have to be careful around and this is one of them.

And to me, it's not a big deal to not use it. How hard is it, really? I know you people are like, "Well, I shouldn't have to feel guilty about what people did hundreds of years ago," and no one is saying you should. But come on, you know the word is going to cause conflict. Therefore, just avoid to use it. It's not necessary to use, so it shouldn't be a problem avoiding the use of it.

But that's you dude. I don't want to sound ignorant or anything, but people of African descent in the UK (if that's where you really are located) have it less hard than the African Americans here. They might experience some racism, but clearly they're fine with it based off of what you said. Over here, it's an extremely strong word with an extremely strong negative history that can still be felt today. That's why we don't use it, and we discourage people from using it. The word reminds some people of so much.
