But that's you dude. I don't want to sound ignorant or anything, but people of African descent in the UK (if that's where you really are located) have it less hard than the African Americans here. They might experience some racism, but clearly they're fine with it based off of what you said. Over here, it's an extremely strong word with an extremely strong negative history that can still be felt today. That's why we don't use it, and we discourage people from using it. The word reminds some people of so much.
